I have started experimenting with this new stitch. I found it in the old stitch dictionary my Auntie gave me(it's an old magazine by Mon Tricot with no publishing info, looks to be from the 70's) It's called the 'Fishtail Stitch II'. I thought this would make a beautiful poncho but I just checked my stash of yarn and I don't know if I'll have enough:( Maybe I'll get a bit funky and just start knitting in a different colour.
Here's the pattern if you want to use it.
Fishtail Stitch II
Multiple of 10
ROW 1: *Wrn to m1, k3, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k3, m1, k1*.
ROW 2 & alt rows: P
ROW 3: * K1, m1, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, m1, k2*.
ROW 5: * K2, m1, k1, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k1, m1, k3*.
ROW 7: * K3, m1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, m1, k4*.
I love knitting in patterns. I find myself smiling after I finish every row and I hold up and admire my stitches!!! Phil thinks I'm a geek:P
