October has been busy and I haven't had time for too much knitting. But, I wanted to try and make a few presents and thought if I attempted something relatively easy I might actually finish before Christmas. I had bought a package of orange cotton at my local yarn shop, Cheer Wool (in Wan Chai, Hong Kong), from their bargain bin. Originally, I intended to make a lace vest with it, but once knitted up realised it was much too bright.
I decided a simple scarf would be my best bet at a quick and easy gift for the little girls on my list. Hmmmm...how to make it fun?...a colourful snake I thought! After a quick google image search I was inspired and had an idea to combine the orange cotton with some additional coloured strands. Here is what I have so far. One scarf complete (minus the tongue) and another on the needles. Pattern to follow next time... I've also made progress on the recycled yarn bag but can't continue until I've found some more old duds to cut up...I'll keep you updated. Happy knitting:)
